Climate Money: Monopoly Science

a-trial-without-a-defense-350aThis article, from JoNova (Joanne Nova) piqued my interest since two things I pay considerable attention to are climate science (global warming) and politics (I’m a free market libertarian).  I enjoy JoNova’s blog as she is easily read, doesn’t get too ponderous in her constant pushing of an agenda (unlike many “green” sites) and has great things to say.

In one of her latest posts, whose title I totally ripped off to use here, she talks about the funding behind most climate science studies.  Not surprisingly, nearly all of the funding going into climatology is to research global warming, climate change, and its effects.  In other words, there is nearly zero funding going into skeptical research nor even the peer review counterbalance to published studies.  Her quote is correct: science without debate is propaganda.

To read her full look at this along with the numbers and where she got them, go to her article at this link.

Definitely worth the time, whether you’re a global warming proponent or skeptic.  It might put a little perspective on some things.
