Bee pollen is one of those things that are often called “superfoods” because of the huge amount of benefit they can have for people’s health.  Despite the hype, in the case of bee pollen, there is a lot to argue in its favor.  Bee pollen has been used as a dietary supplement for thousands of years and for many benefits.

Honey itself has been used for all of recorded history for everything from energy boosting to protecting wounds from infection.  Hippocrates, the father of medicine, used bee pollen and honey for a variety of things.  Many holistic health practitioners use it as the basis for many healing and maintenance activities.

Bee pollen is the seeds found in the stamen of flower blossoms (it looks like yellow dust).  It collects on the legs of honey bees.  The bees themselves, as they collect the pollen, ad nectar and special enzymes into the pollen to create bee pollen.  Those who collect it usually put special “brushes” at the front of bee hives to rub it from the bees’ legs as they pass through into the hive.

What it does is boost energy, increase vitality, helps you maintain healthy weight, enhances your immune system, often relieves respiratory problems due to allergies and asthma, corrects some digestive problems, and is believed to prevent cancer and many chronic diseases.

Overall, bee pollen is great stuff.  Many people use it daily as a supplement and most who do so notice a huge difference in their energy and physical well being within a couple of days of taking it.  Dosages vary by type, but anything from 400-1,000 milligrams is most common.
