Recycle Your Old Gadgets and Help Needy Animals
Filed Under: Aaron's EnvironMental Corner Site News on October 10, 2009
The animal rescue I work with, Gateway’s Needy Animals here in eastern Wyoming is now signed up with a sponsor that pays us money for every electronic gadget we get to them that they can recycle or resell. For those who donate, the process is free of charge, and for the rescue, it brings in much-needed funds.
Gadgets like cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras, etc. can be donated. All you need to do is click the link, fill out a postage form, and mail it in. Items that can be recycled, but otherwise aren’t usable are worth at least $1 donation while items that are resellable are worth more. The sponsor, Gazelle, takes the donations directly. A list of accepted items as well as a search form to see the expected donation value of the item are on the donation site at this link.
Through our page there, you can also see how we’re doing on the donations versus our goal ($50,000 in the next year).
I’ve put a permanent link on Aaron’s EnvironMental Corner to the left there so if you have donations in the future, you can easily find a link. Donations from overseas are accepted as well. It’s winter now, here in Wyoming, so our rescue animals’ needs only get higher as will the needs of those who are on hard times (job loss, winter layovers, etc.) and who need help keeping their pets. Since the rescue prefers to keep animals in their homes with their families, we do everything we can to make sure that happens, if at all possible.
So donate your old gadgets and help out the needy animals in the Gateway to the West!
