Natural House Natural Household Cleaning Products
Filed Under: Product Reviews on October 14, 2011
When I was offered the chance to try out the Natural House line of natural household cleaning products, I snapped it up. First off, I hardly clean anything. I’m a natural slob and really only enjoy cleaning things that are “manly” – like guns, clocks, carburetors, that sort of thing. My wife, however, is a clean freak. One of the reasons we get along, I guess.
With two babies in the house (both under 2 years), we’re definitely having a hard time keeping up. The diaper pail has, up to now, been a constant stink machine. I said until now. One of the products I was given to test was Natural House’s Trashy. It’s a spray meant specifically for garbage can odors and, let me tell you, if it could conquer the diaper stench, it beat out 50 other commercial products that couldn’t.
Conquer it did. A couple of spritzes of this stuff and the pail stench begins to diminish. In about three minutes.. no stink at all. “Death to the poopy pail” is my new mantra when spraying the garbage after a diaper change. I’m hoping my daughter Heidi, the 18 month old, picks up on that and starts using it. She’s got the “Ohhh yeah!” in the Macho Man Randy Savage thing down already.
The other products I was sent to test were Sinky and Flushy, meant for the sink drain and the toilette, obviously. The toilet bowl and drain cleaner did a decent job – as good as any other product we’ve tried. Our main problem with our commode is that we live at high altitude (nearly 5,500 feet), so there’s hardly any water in the bowl. This means hard water stains are the norm and while there are commercial chemicals that can remedy this, I’d prefer not to have to use them. Flushy did a decent job (two tabs instead of one, but it cleaned it right up) and I think if it’s used regularly (once a week or so), it will keep it shiny.
Sinky I can’t say did or didn’t do its job. Our sink drains are pretty OK already, since I recently pulled the bathroom and kitchen drains apart and replaced a lot of parts as what was there was very old and in rough shape. But as a regular maintenance item (that’s likely formulated very similarly to Flushy), it should work great.
Overall, these products are awesome. If you wonder how they work, it’s simple: biotics. Here’s the explanation from their website:
Natural house probiotic cultures are naturally occurring beneficial organisms have been selected from balanced natural ecosystems in nature. These probiotics have maintained life’s subtle balance on earth and they are now helping maintain that same balance in your own home.
The surfaces in your house are like a garden. If you don’t seed with good plants, weeds will grow. You have the same choice with your household surfaces : sanitize for a moment with harsh chemicals leaving your surface open to recontamination or seed with probiotics to continuously weed out the bad micro-organisms. Traditional cleaners “clean” a surface for a moment in time; the second the rag is finished wiping the surface, that surface is almost instantly polluted once again with ambient dust, dirt, and micro-organisms. Natural House probiotics creates mini-ecosystem on a microbial level that produces enzymes which break down odors, dirt, fats, oil, grease, food scraps, waste and toilet paper products on a continuous basis between applications. This creates a natural, clean, balanced environment that is safe for even the most sensitive members of your natural house.
Natural House uses carefully selected non-pathogenic and non-toxic probiotic bacteria combined with natural, plant-based, biodegradable synergistic ingredients to plow through the toughest cleaning problems in your natural house.
The price on these items is great too. You can get them directly from Natural House or you can go to Amazon and buy them there. VERY much recommended!
